About the music

We hope that this musical combination will serve in building a cultural bridge between Eastern and Western musical genres, and faiths. We see this as one of the most important things that we could do to touch the world we live in. To accomplish this through music we have visited the roots of our respective cultures, having gone back to the Ottoman Empire, through the works of Tamburi Büyük Osman Efendi, Tamburi Cemil Bey, Nayi Osman Dede, and Ismail Dede Efendi…
Then we combined these old Turkish Art Music melodies with a modern jazz twist for a distinct flavor of the West. In some of the melodies we have introduced instruments or melody lines that intertwine these respective styles to reflect a oneness in spirit.
Throughout the project we have included songs of praise, thanksgiving, and worship from the faiths of the Sufi, Mevlani, Islamic, and Christian faiths to help tear down the walls between our respective religions and to put the emphasis on relationships. It is our hope that while listening to this musical offering, you will experience the Love, Joy, and Peace that we enjoyed in producing this collection of songs…
