Re: 4 ابريل 1968 المغرب مسرح محمد الخامس *.رباعيات الخيام*.هوه صحيح*
I have read somewhere that the exact translation from Persian should read 'atfe' ladha el qalb bi bard el sharab" referring to wine, but of course this is unacceptable to sing, so it was changed to "shahd el ridab". I also have a comment on what Umm Kulthum said in Morocco "Ashwel hawa el qalb bi shahd el ridab"; although the Khayyam did not mean this at all, Umm Kulthum rephrased to mean something else. Sheikh A Mohammad Shaaban said that by saying this, it conveys that the flame is absent from the beginning. But it could also mean that a sleeping heart might be awaken by a kiss. Interpreted like this, the sentence takes a whole new meaning that is valid and shifts the focus from the heart to the kiss which becomes the trigger of love.
